Tony Basra in partnership with City of Glasgow College will be offering a 5-week fitness program to LGBTQ+ adults. The course begins on the 10th of October and will take place every 2nd Tuesday from there until 5th of December* between 6.00-7.30 pm over the 5 weeks. This program aims at introducing individuals to the world of strength training.
*The classes will be on 10.10.23, 24.10.23, 7.11.23, 21.11.23 & 5.12.23
Here's what to expect:
Week 1 - The first week of the course will feature an introduction to two key movement patterns - hinge & row. This will be followed by a mixture of practical and theoretical exercises.
Week 2 - During the second week, participants will be introduced to the key movement patterns of squat, carry, and push. Again, this will involve a mixture of practical and theoretical exercises.
Week 3 - During week 3, the focus will be on training fundamentals such as reps, sets, training systems, and progression. Participants can expect a mix of practical and theoretical learning.
Week 4 - Week 4 is all about mastering the basics. Topics that will be covered during this week include scheduling, water, sleep, stress, and other theoretical aspects. It is essential to note that gym space is not necessarily required to participate in this week's program.
Week 5 - The final week of the program includes an open gym/class, where participants can engage in stretching, lifting, and conditioning exercises to round off the program.
